Welcome to Miss Bishop's Class!

To the parents and students:
Before the school year begins, I thought I would give you some information about myself.  I am from Slidell, LA but my family recently relocated to Cordova, TN.  I have just graduated from Louisiana State University and this is my first teaching position. I received my Masters degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Psychology.   I have always wanted to be a teacher and so far, have enjoyed every bit of it.  I cannot wait to get in the classroom and work with the students.  I am excited to meet all of you and I'm sure we will have a fantastic year together. 
 
If there are any questions about my background or education, please feel free to contact me. 

I have made this website in the hopes that it will help us stay in contact and let you, the parents, in on what your child does each day in class.  I will post assignment and homeworks on this page, as well as the lessons that are taught in class.  The website should also be beneficial to the student so they can see what their homework is or see what they missed in class in the event that they are absent.

Holidays Around the World

Our newest lesson will be on Holidays Around the World.  For 4 weeks, we will briefly observe 8 holidays celebrated by different cultures.  There will be in-class assignments that will be graded on completion, therefore, if they are not finished in class the student should complete as homework.  There will also be 2 tests on some of the information learned. This should be a lot of FUN--so lets get excited!

Attention Parents:  On the last day of the Holidays Around the World lesson, we will be having a party in the class.  Since we will be learning about many different cultures it would be great if you could bring in a cultural dish or snack of your choice.  This is only optional and you are more than welcome to join in the festivities.  More information will be sent home with your child later in the month.
